You deserve success on your journey towards healing and growth.

Rachel AreDia, LCPC

Hi there! I am a licensed therapist in Illinois and New York. I have been working in the mental health field since 2008. I finished my Masters in Clinical Counseling in 2013 and was fully licensed in 2016. I have worked in a myriad of different jobs including working with at-risk youth to now in my own private practice. I feel incredibly lucky to be in the place that I am to help you navigate what is happening in your life and get you to feeling back to yourself or navigating life transitions.

I have obtained advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have also received specialized training in trauma focused-CBT, mindfulness-based treatment therapy, and motivational interviewing.  In addition, I have a special interest in working with individuals who are experiencing grief symptoms whether from the loss of a loved one, relationship, or life transition.

A few fun facts:

I am a dog mom to the best dog in the world, Fielder (see photo above).

I love going to Chicago Cubs games.

I am so appreciative of being able to champion people to live their best lives and surround myself with people who do the same for me.

01. I value the client-therapist fit.

The fit between the client and therapist is SO important. If you do not feel comfortable with the style of your therapist, please speak up and let us find a way to better support you. Whether that's shifting the style or finding a better referral, we only want what’s best for you!

My Values as a therapist

02. Meeting you where you are at in life.

I meet my clients where they are at in sessions. Meaning, if you want to talk about the date you just had instead of the deep loss you are experiencing that day, let’s talk about that. This is your time, but don’t worry - I will always bring us back to our goals.

03. Being human.

A long time ago, I was in a session as the client. The therapist was very robotic and made me feel like I was not seen. It was no fault of theirs, just their style and that’s ok! But, it is not mine. I am human just like you and have a lot of lived experiences that my clients have found value in. I am open to sharing bits of me when I believe it could be of benefit to you in our work together.
